You are cordially invited to join the family of God and to enjoy all its benefits for now and eternity.
TIME: The present
PLACE: Just where you are
ATTIRE: Just as you are
WHAT TO BRING: A humble spirit & a contrite heart
R.S.V.P.: NOW
Do You Know…
That God has already sent a special invitation to you? He doesn’t require tht you dress up to approach Him or to turn over a new leaf to impress Him. You don’t have to “clean up your act” before you come to Him. You can come just as you are. This is the most important invitation you will ever receive.
Are you afraid to come to Him, fearful that you won’t measure up? The truth is that you won’t. None of us will. “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God…” (Romans 3:23).
“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8).
God knows us better than we know ourselves and He knows everything about us inside and out. He knows our strengths and abilities, our weaknesses and fears. He also knows all the things we would like to hide from Him—and the rest of the world! Yet God, who is totally pure and holy and who hates our sin, still LOVES US ANYWAY. His desire is that we walk in light, not in darkness. That we come to Him in faith for the forgiveness of our sins. When we accept Him as Savior and believe in Him, we are empowered to go “from darkness to light…that [we] may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among [his family] who are sanctified by faith in me” (Acts 26:18).
Because God loves you, He has invited you to enjoy eternal life with Him in heaven and join his family, beginning the moment you trust in Jesus as your Savior. Jesus is the way to accept God’s invitation. Jesus said, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6). Accept the invitation by believing in your heart that Jesus bore the punishment for your sins by His death on the cross. Confess that you have sinned and ask for His forgiveness.
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16).
Jesus Himself invites you…
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28).
Will you receive Him into your life NOW—or will you risk missing all He offers you for eternity? You can pray something like this:
Dear God, I admit that I am a sinner and need Your forgiveness and grace. Thank you for sending your only Son, Jesus, to suffer the punishment I deserve for my sins. Please come into my life and help me live a life pleasing to you as I accept Jesus as Savior and Lord of my life. Amen
If you just prayed that prayer, CONGRATULATIONS! A multitude of angels are singing and heaven is rejoicing! I’ll see you at the “FOREVER” party!
What next?
Accepting Jesus as Savior is just the beginning. Being a Christian is not about a singular moment or a singular decision. It is about life change (for the eternal better)! Here are a few resources to get you started:
